Alan is half-Japanese and the name Tensai – the Japanese word for “genius” – honours his heritage… although he’d much rather let the magic speak for itself!
With a career spanning the globe, Alan has performed at The Magic Castle in Hollywood, USA, entertained on hundreds of luxury cruises worldwide for Cunard, P&O, Norwegian, Oceania, Regent, Saga, Royal Caribbean, and Fred. Olsen and mesmerized audiences at London’s top hotels, including The Dorchester, The Lanesborough, and The InterContinental Mayfair.

Caroline Vandome is Alan’s wife, an accomplished magician in her own right and an Associate of The Inner Magic Circle with Silver-Star—an honour reserved for performers of exceptional skill. As a core part of the Tensai stage & theatre show and the intimate Private Magic Show & Full Magical Experience, Caroline brings elegance, mystery, and masterful sleight of hand to every performance.
Her work has been instrumental in shaping the award-winning shows that Tensai Magic has performed across the globe, from top cruise-liners and international magic conventions, to prestigious events at The Magic Circle itself. Highlights include appearances in the Magic Circle Christmas Show and a special invitation-only performance for the American Houdini Society’s séance, held at The Magic Circle headquarters.
